Board Members

Stephen KernahanPresident - Stephen Kernahan

Played 251 games for Carlton between 1986 and 1997. Stephen is Carlton's longest serving captain and indeed he holds the record in the AFL (226 games), and was captain of the Carlton premiership sides in 1987 and 1995. A three time Carlton Best & Fairest winner he was named captain of Carlton's Team of the 20th Century.

A member of the Carlton Hall of Fame and a Life Member of the Club, Stephen was named a Carlton Legend and is a member of the AFL Hall of Fame.

Stephen is a partner in Docklands Press, and in April 2006 was elected as Vice President of the Carlton Football Club.

In June 2008 Stephen was elected Interim President when Richard Pratt decided to stand aside as the President of the Carlton Football Club. In August 2008, following Richard Pratt's resignation from the Board, Stephen was appointed as President.

Richard NewtonVice President - Richard Newton

Richard Newton was a Director of the Carlton Cricket & Football Social Club between 2002 and 2006 and was also a member of the Finance Sub-Committee. He has a Bachelor of Business from Monash University and is Chairman of the Selpam Group of Companies, a family business involved in property developments and investments, specifically in hotel operations. Richard is also a Director of Amalgamated Holdings Ltd.

Richard joined the Carlton Football Club Board in May 2006 and was appointed as Vice President of the Carlton Football Club in October 2008 at the same time he was appointed chair of the Audit & Finance Committee.

Marcus ClarkeMarcus Clarke

Marcus Clarke has been a director of the Carlton Football Club since February, 2007 and was a director of the Social Club from 2002 to 2006. He was a sponsor from 1996 to 2001 and has been a supporter since the late 1960s.
Marcus has been a barrister since 1987 and has represented a number of players at the AFL Tribunal and in appeals from the Tribunal.

He was an Australian junior and schoolboy champion at middle distance and cross-country, and has a particular interest in player conditioning and injury management and in the development of an elite training facility for the Club.

Zac FriedZac Fried

Zac Fried is a joint owner and Executive director of The Spotlight Group, including successful Australian businesses; Spotlight, Anaconda, RSEA and the Spotlight Property Group. Operating over 450,000sqm of retail space across four countries, employing over 7,000 staff they remain one of the most successful privately owned business groups in Australia. Zac has overseen the development of some of Australia's premier retail and homemaker centres and was recognized for this significant work in 2008 as the recipient of the prestigious Warwick Shedden Memorial Trophy from the Bulky Goods Retailers Association (BGRA). Zac holds a number of board positions and was recently appointed a Director of the BGRA, further recognizing his influence within this sector.

Whilst a specialist in retail and property development throughout Australia and New Zealand, Zac was recently recognized in the top 25 most influential retailers in Australia by leading industry magazine 'Inside Retailing', 2 years in a row.

A passionate lifetime Carlton supporter, Zac has been involved in various planning and marketing committees with Carlton and most recently played a key role in the redevelopment of VISY Park for the club.
 

 

Raphael Geminder

Raphael (Ruffy) Geminder is Executive Chairman of Pact Group, a leading Australasian packaging business in a broad range of rigid plastic and metal packaging. Pact Group is wholly owned by the Geminder Family.

Since acquiring the business in 2002, Ruffy has transformed Pact Group from a largely industrial packaging based supplier to a fast growing, energetic regional packaging leader. This has been achieved through business improvement and over 20 acquisitions during this period.

Prior to acquiring Pact Group, Ruffy was the co-founder and Chairman of Visy Recycling, growing it into the largest recycling company in Australia.

Ruffy holds a MBA in Finance and was previously a funds broker in New York before immigrating to Australia.

Ruffy was appointed Victoria's first Honorary Consul to the Republic of South Africa in July 2006. He is also a Director of the Lifesaving Association of Australia, and holds a number of other advisory and Board positions.

Adrian GleesonAdrian Gleeson

Adrian Gleeson is well known in the football community, having played 176 games for Carlton between 1986 and 1996 and is a Life Member of the Club. He was a member of Carlton's 1987 Premiership side and also represented Victoria during his playing career. While playing for Carlton Adrian embarked on financial planning studies and following his retirement from playing he established his own business in 1990.

A Certified Financial Planner, Adrian continues to be a Partner in C.A.G Financial Services Pty Ltd and is a member of the National Board of Apogee Financial Planning; part of the National Australia Bank group. Adrian was appointed to the Carlton Football Club Board in May 2006.

Mark HarrisonMark Harrison

Mark studied a Bachelor of Economics at La Trobe University. From 1998 - 2007 Mark was a Director and Partner of Ashe Morgan Winthrop, Australia’s largest commercial mortgage originator. In 2008 Mark joined Wingate Group, a boutique Investment Bank where his primary focus is running the property division.
Through Mark's professional career he has built an enviably strong business network, especially in the financial services and property industries.

Mark is a life-long Carlton supporter, having grown up in a Carlton family, officially becoming a club member in 1982. Prior to being elected to the Carlton Football Club board in February 2007, Mark had been involved with the club as a corporate sponsor from 1995-2004 and had previously assisted Carlton's marketing department with a variety of revenue raising activities.

Mark is also a Board member of the King David School. Located in Melbourne, the school educates approximately 800 students across all year levels.

Greg LeeGreg Lee

Greg is the founder and Managing Director of three major national and international recruitment businesses. Vital is Australia’s largest healthcare recruiter, whilst Octopus (hospitality) and Precision (logistics) both dominate their niche markets.

Greg is a Director of William Angliss Institute and is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Australian Institute of Management.

A Club member since the age of 5, and more recently a Sponsor and Coterie Member, prior to becoming a director Greg worked behind the scenes at Carlton generating significant funds for the Club including projects such as the Carlton Heroes Project.
 

 

Mark Lo Giudice
Mark Lo Giudice

Mark LoGiudice is a lifetime Carlton supporter and has been a member of the Carltonians since 1995 and in more recent years a member of The Inner Blue.

Mark has been in the property industry since 1986 and is Managing Director of Crawfords Group, a family owned investment and development company, involved in commercial, industrial and retail property.

Further to his property interests, Mark is a Director of Premier Fruits Group, a national farming, marketing and logistics company of fresh produce.  He is also a Director of Sovereign Hotels Group, a Victorian based operator of hotels and restaurants.

Outside of his corporate activities, Mark is a long standing committee member of RCH 1000, which actively raises funds for research at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

 

Stephen Moulton
Stephen Moulton


Stephen is a commercial lawyer with 25 years experience.  Formerly Managing Partner and then Chairman of Partners at Mills Oakley Lawyers until March 2009, he joined the partnership at PricewaterhouseCoopers in April 2009 to build a complimentary corporate and commercial legal capability.  Stephen has significant experience acting on behalf of corporations, banks and other financial institutions.

Stephen was formerly President of the Blue Suits, a non match day coterie group.

Ari SussAri Suss

Ari Suss was first elected to the Board of the Carlton Football Club in January 2007 and re-elected in 2008.

Ari Suss is Executive Director of the Fox Private Group, the private family investment arm of the Linfox Group of Companies and a Non-Executive Director of Avalon Airport Australia.

Ari joined Linfox in 2004 as Manager of Government and Corporate Affairs providing specialist expertise in regulatory, legislative and political matters for the company’s logistics, property and aviation businesses. Between 1999 and 2004, Ari was a senior adviser to former Premier Steve Bracks. During this time he specialised in policy and advice in the areas of infrastructure development, transport, ports, major projects, multicultural affairs and parliamentary strategy. Ari has developed and implemented numerous large-scale marketing and communications strategies.

Ari has a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management from Monash University.

Simon WilsonSimon Wilson QC

Simon has supported Carlton since he was old enough, at 6, to be taken to the football by his father whose family lived opposite Princes Park on Royal Parade for 40 years. Simon has been a financial sponsor of the Carlton Football Club first as a member of 'the President's Men' and then as an Associate Sponsor for the last 12 years.

Simon has been a member of the Victorian Bar since 1976 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1992
