Here’s a blast from the past that we have dug up from the Carlton archive.

Carlton’s historian Tony De Bolfo interviewed Zach Tuohy and new recruit Ciaran Sheehan back in 2009, when the players first came to Australia to train with the Blues.

The pair had just witnessed the Round 17 clash between Carlton and Collingwood at the MCG, and Sheehan was blown away by the atmosphere.

“I think it was an unbelievable atmosphere,” Sheehan said.

“85,000 at the game … it’s just something phenomenal and not something we’re used to at home really.

“Just to be there and be involved and to be seeing our lads that we see in the dressing room every day is unbelievable.”

Sheehan will join Carlton’s rookie list for Season 2014, after committing to the Blues for the next two years.

He’s expected to arrive at Visy Park in January.
