Carlton's midfield could be bolstered by the return of Chris Judd for the Easter Sunday clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.

Judd is yet to play this season after having surgery on his Achilles.

Carlton's Football Operations Manager Andrew McKay says he's optimistic about Judd's chances.

"He's got to get through training on Thursday, we've got a big session Thursday, and then follow that up Saturday morning," McKay said.

"So he needs to complete those two training sessions to even be considered, but early signs are looking positive."

But Blues Michael Jamison and Troy Menzel are in doubt for the clash.

Both left the ground early in the loss to Melbourne, Jamison with a calf injury and Menzel with a corked hamstring.

A final call on the pair will also be made after training on Thursday.

The news is better though for Mitch Robinson and Dale Thomas.

After being a late withdrawal against the Demons, Robinson has trained fully this week.

While's McKay's confident Thomas will play.

"Daisy got a knock in the shoulder, in layman's terms a 'stinger' I think they call it, where you lose a bit of feeling in that shoulder and the arm," McKay said.

"Certainly the scans are all clear and indicate he's ready to go."
