OVERVIEW
Sam Rowe's shift to the back-line at the start of 2014 proved a success, with the 26-year-old playing in all but one of Carlton's senior games.

The defender finished the season ranked 7th in the league overall for total one percenters and 8th for one percenters per game.

In acknowledging his on-field performance, the Blues put their faith in Rowe by agreeing to a new two-yer deal which will keep him at Visy Park until at least the end of 2016.

And to cap off the year, the defender was awarded both the Blues Coterie Most Improved Player and DI Count Award at Carlton's John Nicholls Medal count.

HE SAID IT
"It's nice to get a bit of a run, but I'm focusing on each week and I don't want to get too ahead of myself. I'm obviously enjoying the challenge at the moment."

 - Sam Rowe, speaking after Carlton's five-point win over Adelaide in Round 10.

THEY SAID IT
"Sam is the kind of player who works extremely hard on his training and techniques, and we've seen the results of hard work on the field this year. Off the field Sam has been a great person to have around the Club and we can see his leadership growing as his confidence grows. We believe that he has a lot to offer our team and are delighted that he has agreed to terms."

- Carlton Football Club's General Manager of Football Operations, Andrew McKay, on Rowe signing a two year deal with the Blues.
