OVERVIEW
Cameron Wood's journey to Visy Park has been somewhat of a roller coaster.

After stints at Brisbane and Collingwood, the 27-year-old believed his AFL career was over after being delisted at the end of 2012.

However, after a season playing some consistent football for Williamstown in the VFL, he was drafted by Carlton with pick No.28 in last year's rookie draft.

Impressing many whilst representing the Northern Blues, Wood made his debut for the seniors during Carlton's Round 18 clash with North Melbourne.

Thereafter he continued playing in all five remaining rounds, showcasing his talent up against some of the finest ruckman in the league.

We look forward to seeing what Wood can achieve in 2015.

HE SAID IT
"Anything can happen I guess. I thought I was done – on the scrapheap. I had sort of given-up on the AFL dream so to speak and moved onto the next chapter of my life. I was with the Casanovas at Nova 100 and I worked at a hotel for a couple of months behind a bar. It was a good experience actually – I enjoyed it. It was a really good experience but I'd prefer this."

- Wood speaking after making his debut for the Blues in the Round 18 clash with North Melbourne.

THEY SAID IT
"He (Wood) battled hard against him and whilst he didn't beat him in the ruck, he did enough around the ground to give him something to worry about."

- Carlton coach Mick Malthouse speaking about Wood after Carlton's 23-point defeat of North Melbourne.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
On debut for Carlton in the Round 18 match against North Melbourne, Wood notched up 26 hit-outs, 10 disposals, three tackles and a goal.
