Wood talks pre-season and Book Drive Cameron Wood was at Carlton Primary School today to deliver books for some lucky students, he spoke to the media about the Book Drive and about how the Club's pre-season is tracking.

Cameron Wood donned his Santa hat to bring some Christmas cheer to the children at the Carlton Primary School today.
Wood was joined by Captain Carlton in visiting each classroom, to deliver books donated through the Carlton Christmas Book Drive.
More than 450 books were donated at Visy Park last week. There were plenty of smiles from the children as they received the books, which they will be able to take home to help improve their reading skills.
Wood says the Blues were overwhelmed by the response.
“It has been a great initiative by the Carlton Footy Club to do a book drive and come down here to the Carlton Primary School and hand them out,” Wood said.
“A lot of the kids are from migrant and refugee backgrounds and they don’t have the privilege of having books at home because English is a second language for them – so it’s definitely going to help them out.”
Wood is studying teaching at Victoria University and hopes to one day become a primary school teacher when he retires from football.
In the meantime he will be joined by Carlton’s Simon White to deliver a literacy program to the Carlton Primary School children. The program is part of Carlton’s long-standing relationship with the school and nearby High Rise Estates.
The Carlton Football Club would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who donated to our book drive. Your support has helped us make a small difference in the local community.
