Carlton will regain key senior players for Sunday's NAB Challenge game against Geelong in Bendigo.

Bryce Gibbs, Andrew Carrazzo, Michael Jamison, Lachie Henderson and Chris Judd are among the players set to return.

But the Blues will again be without skipper Marc Murphy, who suffered a calf strain during an intra-club match last month.

Head of Football Andrew McKay says he's confident Murphy will be right for Round 1.

"Marc Murphy is travelling quite well," McKay told CFC TV.

"He won't be up for selection against Collingwood this Sunday, but certainly in contention against Geelong the following week, so that will keep him in good stead for round one against Richmond."

Meanwhile Matthew Kreuzer remains on track to return early in the season after suffering a setback in his return from a foot injury.

McKay says the big man is preparing to shed his moon boot.

"Matthew's going quite well," McKay said.

"He's back walking and riding and that type of thing – still in the boot, but he'll be out of the boot in the next week or so."

Giles (foot) indefinite
Kreuzer (foot) 5 weeks
