Carlton will blood three debutants in tomorrow night's season opener against Richmond at the MCG.

Kristian Jaksch, Liam Jones and Clem Smith have all been named to make their debut.

Jaksch joined Carlton through the trade period after seven games with Greater Western Sydney. The 20-year-old spent the pre-season playing on the backline but also has the ability to play as a forward.

Jones arrived at Carlton after being traded from the Western Bulldogs where he played 66 AFL games. The 24-year-old tall forward has impressed over the pre-season, playing in all three of Carlton’s NAB Challenge matches.

Meanwhile Smith is an exciting 19-year-old from Western Australia who was selected by Carlton with pick No. 60 in the 2014 National Draft. Ferocious in attack, Smith was named in the Under 18 All-Australian side in 2013.

The new trio will line up alongside Blues stars including Marc Murphy, Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs – with the vice-captain named to play after overcoming a shoulder injury.

Cameron Wood is set to man the ruck duties in the absence of Rob Warnock, who is still recovering from a knock to his shoulder.

Levi Casboult, David Ellard and newcomer Jason Tutt have all been named as emergencies.

The match kicks off at the MCG at 7.20pm tomorrow night, but Blues fans are being asked to arrive early and gather at Carlton Central between Gates 3 and 4 to march into the stadium together at 6.30pm (click here for info on all the pre-match hype).
