Patrick Cripps' star continues to rise, with the Carlton young gun becoming the first Blue to receive a perfect 10 in the 2015 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.

Cripps' game-high 31 disposals at the weekend saw him earn maximum votes from Blues coach John Barker and his Port Adelaide counterpart Ken Hinkley.

The 20-year-old also recorded a career-high 12 tackles, along with 10 clearances and 15 contested possessions in a match-winning role.

Teammate Zach Tuohy said he was in awe of Cripps, whose latest achievement follows his Rising Star nomination in Round 4.

“He’s a star, I mean we knew he was a great player but he’s surprised me a lot with just how quickly he’s risen," Tuohy told Crocmedia.

“He’s as hard as they come and he’s just a tackling machine – he’s exactly the kind of player you want in and under the packs."
