Carlton vice-captain Bryce Gibbs has been booked by the match review panel for his tackle on Port Adelaide's Robbie Gray in Saturday's win at the MCG.

Gibbs has been charged with engaging in rough conduct for a tackle he laid during the second quarter.

He can accept a two-match suspension with an early guilty plea.

The Match Review Panel laid the charges after reviewing video evidence and a medical report from Port Adelaide.

The incident has been classified as careless conduct with high impact to the head – attracting a three-match sanction.

Gibbs has no applicable bad record so an early plea can reduce the sanction to a two-match penalty.
