Every goal Carlton kicked against Port Adelaide on Saturday helped fund research into childhood cancer.

So it’s fair to say everyone was pleased (maybe except Port fans) that the Blues kicked accurately on the weekend.

For every goal the Blues scored, Hyundai Help For Kids donated $1,000 to the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation. Hyundai Help for Kids is an initiative of Hyundai and Hyundai Dealers to provide grants to not-for-profit organisations focused on delivering assistance to children.

The Carlton Football Club was proud to have the Foundation as its community partner at the MCG to help raise funds for this very worthy cause.

The Blues kicked 17 goals against Port, securing $17,000 from Hyundai Help for Kids and Hyundai's Southern Region Dealer Association kicked in a further $5,000.

Thanks to your generosity the collections from the concourse reached approximately $2,000 on match day and when coupled with other fundraising efforts during the week, the total amount raised is over $27,000.

Every cent will help childhood cancer research and there’s still a chance for you to add to the total.

The match ball used in Saturday’s nail-biting game, which has been signed by Carlton coach John Barker and captain Marc Murphy, is being auctioned off on the Carlton website with all proceeds also going to the Steven Walter Children's Cancer Foundation.
