The double cobra could become the AFL’s latest celebration craze thanks to Levi Casboult’s little protégé.

With five minutes left in the second quarter against the Kangaroos in Round 18, Casboult booted a set shot goal, sending the Sherrin flying high into the second tier of Etihad Stadium. What happened next has gone viral.

A little boy, also wearing a Carlton guernsey with the number the 41 on his back, marked the ball – and then gave one of the best celebrations possible: the double cobra.

Channel 7’s Brian Taylor and Luke Darcy loved the kid’s effort and swagger, replaying and commenting on the footage.

“Have a look who gets on the end of this, a young kid way up the back!” Taylor said.

“He’s very happy, then gives a bit of a double cobra – he turns to the guys in the bar and says mate, I’m a double cobra style!”

The video has had more than 100,000 views with Blues fans across the country asking us to find the young man and sign him up.

Through the power of social media Carlton’s digital department tracked down the cult hero. His name is – wait for it – also Levi!

Eleven-year-old Levi Denton from Mt Eliza plays for the Mt Eliza Redlegs. They are on the top of the ladder this year and won the premiership in 2014.

On Wednesday morning, young Levi and his family were invited to Carlton. He met all his favourite players, including his namesake – Levi Casboult.

In keeping with his now famous celebration, young Levi had everyone from Sam Rowe to Simon White and Zach Tuohy practicing the double cobra.

After training, the Levis shared a kick-to-kick and young Levi cheekily taught Casboult how to do the double cobra, so that he can celebrate in style when he kicks his next goal.

Hopefully we’ll be seeing the double cobra a lot this weekend against the Pies!

Upon leaving little Levi said it was “the best day of my life” and he can’t wait to see Casboult boot his next goal.

The Denton family was given some brand new Carlton jumpers and will be at Saturday’s game, with passes to visit the Carlton rooms pre-match.
