OVERVIEW
After a breakout season last year, Troy Menzel was touted as one to watch heading into 2015. However hampered by injury and lacking in confidence, the young forward struggled to find consistency.

A four-goal haul against the Cats in Round 8, and two goals against Richmond, GWS and Port, were highlights for Menzel this season.

In the latter part of the year, Menzel played a few games for the Northern Blues in the VFL, which helped the 20-year-old regain some much-needed form.

HE SAID IT
“I guess I haven’t had the year I’d really hoped for…I’ve been struck down with injury a few times and I haven’t been able to get some consistency in my game. I look at these last five weeks as an opportunity to play myself into some form and finish the year on a high.”

- Menzel discussing is own form heading into Round 19’s clash with Collingwood.

THEY SAID IT
“One of the brightest young talents on the Blues' list, Menzel looms as an important part of the rebuilding club's future.”

- A Carlton spokesperson talking to AFL.com.au after Menzel suffered bone bruising in the Blues win over the Gold Coast Suns, Monday 29 June.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Menzel was a shining light in Carlton’s Round 8 loss to Geelong, with four goals and nine contested possessions.
