OVERVIEW

In Round 8, two weeks before that fateful Saturday afternoon, Judd notched up 300 official AFL games, including 19 pre-season games, one State of Origin game and two International Rules games. This achievement qualified him for AFL life membership.

Unfortunately the dual Brownlow medallist wasn’t able taste victory in his final year at the Blues. The 31-year-old didn’t play in Round 4, Carlton’s first win of the season in New Zealand, due to back tightness.

In Round 21 fans farewelled the champ as he and his family did a lap of honour around the ‘G, closing the curtain on a truly wonderful career.

HE SAID IT

“I knew the end was coming, so in that sense it hasn't been a huge surprise but it's the suddenness of it that has caught me a little off guard. I’d like to be remembered just as a country boy with a heart of gold. Not being from the country, that's going to make it tricky."

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Classic ‘Juddy’ was on display when the Blues took on Greater Western Sydney in Round 7. Judd collected 26 disposals, 11 contested, five clearances and kicked two goals. Although Carlton couldn’t sustain its pressure in the second half, Judd easily matched it with the young Giants from Sydney.
