The acknowledgement of an outstanding season from Carlton young gun Patrick Cripps continues.

Cripps has finished runner up in the AFL Coaches Association's Best Young Player Award.

The award is voted by the league's 18 coaches and recognises the performance of a player in the first two seasons of his AFL career.

Western Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli took out the award with 557 votes, ahead of Cripps with 527. Eagle Jeremy McGovern finished third with 362 votes.

Congratulations to 'Crippa' on another achievement!
