Carlton coach Brendon Bolton has been working around-the-clock to ensure he’s surrounding himself with the best possible team heading into 2016.

Speaking to 3AW in the lead up to Saturday’s AFL grand final, Bolton reiterated there’s plenty of challenges ahead, but he says he and his side are ready to tackle them head on.

“I know I’ve said this a few times now, but I live by the mantra ‘get comfortable being uncomfortable’, because that’s what life’s about – putting yourself in challenging situations.

“There’s a big one (challenge) in front of us but we’re going to start with pushing values, challenging values, celebrating them when people do them well, and more importantly, getting people into our club that will drive them.”

The 36-year-old was full of praise for his new panel of assistant coaches, including Shane Watson, Dale Amos, Tim Clarke and John Barker.

“We’ve just established a terrific coaching staff which I’m really pleased with.

“They are young in age and can grow with the footy club, as I can, and they’ve all coached their own team – that’s really important to me because they’ve got a more holistic view on coaching.”

The new-look coaching team will be in full swing for pre-season when the players return next month.
