It’s US v Gold Coast as we head to north to Queensland for our first interstate game of the season.

It will no doubt be a tough test, with the undefeated Suns downing Fremantle last week, but the Blues are always up for a challenge as they continue to learn and grow as a team.

Curtain raiser:

There will be a NEAFL curtain raiser between the Gold Coast Suns and Aspley before the main game between the Suns and Carlton. A valid ticket for the AFL game will allow you to enter the stadium to watch the curtain raiser.

If you are attending the match you must enter via Gate 3, they will be open from 3:45 onwards, with the first bounce taking place at 3:55pm.

  • 4:00pm - Inside Gate 1: Carlton’s merchandise and membership stand opens

Car park:

Please be aware there will be no public parking available at Metricon Stadium for the 2016 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, and parking restrictions will be enforced in the areas surrounding Metricon Stadium.

Passengers in possession of a valid event ticket will travel FREE with TransLink to and from the event on scheduled Surfside bus, Queensland Rail and G:link services (conditions apply).

Please note that you must be in possession of your valid event ticket prior to travelling on TransLink services in order to gain free access to public transport. If you have selected the venue collection option you can pick your tickets up before the event day from any Ticketmaster outlet. Event tickets purchased at the Metricon Stadium box office on event days are only valid for free post-event travel on Surfside, Queensland Rail and G:link services.

Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride

Metricon Stadium offers patrons a Park ‘n’ Ride facility on Boowaggan Road, Merrimac. The car park opens at approximately 5.00pm and will close approximately 1 hour after the final siren. There is limited parking available at Boowaggan Road Park ‘n’ Ride.

To Metricon Stadium: 5.10pm – 7.25pm

From Metricon Stadium: From final siren for one hour

Train

Patrons in possession of a valid ticket can catch regular Queensland Rail train services from any station on the Gold Coast line to Nerang station for free then board a free event shuttle bus to Metricon Stadium from the eastern side of Nerang station or walk to the stadium (approx. 2.4kms). Return shuttle buses will operate from Metricon Stadium back to Nerang station for one hour after the final siren.

Bus – Broadbeach South Station
Corner Pacific Fair Drive and Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach

Customers in possession of a valid event ticket can catch any regular Surfside bus or G:link tram service to Broadbeach South Station for free and then board a free event shuttle bus to Metricon Stadium.

Please note that there are no longer shuttles buses running from Victoria Park, Broadbeach, these services have been relocated to the Broadbeach South Station.
