The Blues will face the Brisbane Lions with seven teenagers taking to the field when the two young sides go head-to-head on Sunday afternoon at the Gabba.

Senior coach Brendon Bolton said he was expecting an "aggressive" contest between to the two teams, with the Blues set to blood their seventh debutant for the year in 19-year-old Harry McKay.

Sunday’s clash will be the first time the complete 2015 national draft class line up together in Jacob Weitering, Charlie Curnow, Jack Silvagni, David Cuningham and McKay.

“Both sides will go in with a young team tomorrow. We will have seven teenagers playing and our future will be on display. So too Brisbane’s young future, so I think it will be a really good, energetic contest,” Bolton said.

“We will have to turn up tomorrow and play aggressive football. They have (Josh) Schache and (Eric) Hipwood up forward who are both great young talents, and we have to respect them both, and to defend hard in that space.”

Key forward McKay has earned his call-up to the Blues’ senior side after 11 games with the Northern Blues this season, but Bolton was quick to call for a level of patience in his long-term development.

“Big forwards always generate a lot of interest. Harry’s been working hard on the fundamentals in the VFL,” he said.

“While he still has a way to go in that space, but for his family, our supporters and our Club, it’s exciting to have another debutant and to see another young guy have his opportunity for a debut.

“Harry will get some good game time, everyone has balanced game time in this day and age, but he’ll be up there and he’ll play up front with Levi.”

Speaking to the media on Saturday in Brisbane, Bolton predicted the Blues would need to look to nullify Brisbane’s in-form midfielders.

“Brisbane have played some really match-hardened teams in the last month or so, so we’re expecting a fierce contest, but we know their midfield is very strong – (Dayne) Beams and (Dayne) Zorko in particular,” he said.

“In saying that, we have to look at their whole side because we play more in a system-based approach to nullify our opposition. There’s not too much (ridiculous) focus on individuals, of course we respect them but our game plan is based around our system.”

The ball will bounce at 4:40pm at the Gabba on Sunday afternoon. Fox Footy will be broadcasting the game live.
