CARLTON will have four picks at the 2017 NAB AFL Women's Draft, with the order today confirmed ahead of Wednesday's draft.

After a busy trade period which landed stars Nicola Stevens (Collingwood) and Tayla Harris (Brisbane), the Blues will enter the AFLW draft armed with picks 12, 28, 29 and 36.

The number of picks allocated per club depends on the number of spots available on individual club lists.

Clubs will have a primary list of 27, with another three rookie spots available. A rookie draft will be held on Friday October 20, although some clubs have already signed some rookies.

The initial draft order was based on a reverse ladder order before the trade period was completed.

Western Bulldogs hold the first pick after a trade deal involving Greater Western Sydney and Collingwood.

The draft is state-based, with players nominating which state they wish to play in.
