CARLTON has suffered another injury blow with Levi Casboult taken to hospital after the match against the Crows at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old was kneed in the ribs by Tom Doedee as the Crows defender went for a mark with six minutes left in the final quarter.

Blues coach Brendon Bolton said he didn't see the contest.

"I just found that out late.... so some concerns in around his ribs. His welfare is paramount now and I hope he's okay," he said.

Lachie Plowman also suffered a corked quad against Adelaide.

Bolton said he was hopeful Charlie Curnow and Caleb Marchbank will return for the round eight match against the Bombers after suffering injuries at training while Jacob Weitering will be considered after a 28 possession, 17-mark performance in the VFL.

The injuries add to the pain of Carlton's 0-7 start to the season.

Bolton has urged supporters to keep the faith and said, "blue skies are ahead" with tough road trips like the one encountered in Adelaide part of the side's development.

"There's inconsistencies but the longer we play together, the more they are in those games against quality teams, the more we'll grow," he said.

"I churn after losses, I'm human, I feel for our supporters, I feel for our coaches and players that they can't get that positive vibe just yet from a win.

"But when you can look through the cloud of a loss, Paddy Dow kicks his first goal today and you can see the smiles."
