THE Blues trail the Dockers by 70 points at half-time at Etihad Stadium, 0.7.7 to 12.5.77.

Carlton struggled to keep the ball in its attacking 50 in the first half, with a ferocious Fremantle applying plenty of pressure.

FIRST TERM

It was a term full of errors and missed opportunities for Carlton, which didn’t manage to put a six-pointer to its name.

A mark by Matthew Wright in front of goal from a Dale Thomas pass promised to be our first major at the 16-minute mark, but unfortunately today’s 150-gamer missed the shot.

A free kick to Levi Casboult from outside 50 resulted in another behind for the Blues.

A play between acting captain Patrick Cripps and Paddy Dow was sent forward to Matthew Kreuzer, but unfortunately resulted in another behind for the Blues.

Meanwhile, Fremantle set itself up with a strong lead by the end of the first quarter, with six unanswered majors on the back of a series of fumbles from the Blues' defenders.

SECOND TERM

Hopes of a half-time comeback were sunk by Freo, which kicked six majors in the term, while Carlton failed to make the most of its minimal goalscoring opportunities with just three behinds to show.

Cripps leads the Blues for disposals with 16, and has an equal team-high contested possessions (six).

Liam Jones leads his team for contested marks (two) and one-percenters (five).

There will no doubt be tough words in the Carlton rooms at the main break.
