ALTHOUGH they fought it out until the final siren sounded, Carlton’s VFLW side couldn’t contain Collingwood on Saturday at Warrawee Oval, going down by 35 points.

With a mix of experience and youth, the side will continue to develop and improve its skills throughout the remainder of the 2018 season.

Senior VFLW coach Shannon McFerran reviews the performances of a number of AFLW-listed players from Saturday’s game.

Shae Audley
Stats:
17 disposals, 5 tackles
From the coach:
Shae was fantastic for us today. She played a number of roles that she executed well throughout the game. Her experience and knowledge of the game helped support our younger players in the midfield. We look forward to benefitting from Shae’s experience throughout the rest of the VFLW season.

Reni Hicks
Stats:
From the coach:
Reni has been a valuable defender for the Blues this season, as she continues to relentlessly attack the football. Her ability to run and create is developing well and we should start to see more of this as she finds confidence in her ability.

Tilly Lucas-Rodd
Stats:
13 disposals, 1 goal
From the coach:
Tilly is finding real consistency in her game at the moment. She is able to set up defensively while also attacking with the football and helping set up forward movement. She was able to impact the scoreboard and finished with a goal.

Breann Moody
Stats:
8 disposals, 7 kicks
From the coach:
Breann again was strong in the ruck today. Her presence around the ground is improving and her last two games have been great. Breann will continue to build her consistency throughout the games she plays.

Nat Plane
Stats:
14 disposals, 10 kicks
From the coach:
Nat returned to the VFLW and made an immediate impact. She found plenty of the ball and at times used it well. Nat will continue to develop her foot skills and her ball use as she continues to run and create with footy.
