CARLTON AFLW ruck Alison Downie will be reunited with fellow tall Breann Moody this weekend, after being named in the VFLW squad to take on Melbourne Uni at Ikon Park.

Running out for Carlton in every game during the AFL Women’s season, this will mark Downie’s first appearance for the Club’s VFLW side, as the team continues to rotate its AFLW players.

With the Blues looking to record their third win of the season, the ruck is one of seven changes to Saturday’s line-up.

Named as the 23rd player, Mika Suzuki will make her debut for Carlton after arriving from the Northern Knights, while VFLW-listed players Olivia Vesley, Genevieve Green and young Isabella Gietzmann return to the side.

Bolstering the squad’s experience, AFLW defender Kerryn Harrington and midfielder Sophie Li will also run out for the Round 8 clash.

Ikon Park will host a double-header on Saturday, with the Northern Blues taking on Footscray at 10:00am, followed by Carlton and Melbourne Uni which kicks off at 1:00pm.
