CARLTON is delighted to welcome Madison Prespakis to its AFLW list, after recruiting the young midfielder with pick No.3 in the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

The talented footballer already has a long list of achievements to her name, including premiership success at the Calder Cannons, All-Australian selection and multiple best-and-fairest honours.

Captaining the Cannons this season, Prespakis led Vic Metro during the under-18 national championships on the Gold Coast in July and claimed two individual awards – named the best player in the overall tournament, as well as for Vic Metro for a second successive year.

Such was her dominance during the TAC Cup, the young ball-winner polled 113 out of a possible 120 votes to also claim the Cannons’ best-and-fairest award this season.

Senior AFLW coach Daniel Harford said Prespakis will strengthen the Blues’ line-up in 2019.

“We couldn’t be happier to secure Maddy. Not only is she a proven ball-winner, but she has a super footy IQ and makes good decisions with ball in hand,” Harford said.

“Playing for Melbourne Uni in the VFLW competition, she averaged more than 25 disposals and also managed to hit the scoreboard, so we can’t wait to see her in the navy blue next year.”

Welcome, Madison!
