CARLTON players have given away bikes to members to thank the 40,000 fans who signed on for 2019 following a packed-out Hyundai Open Training session.

To mark the end of the final training of the year, the Blues met with supporters to have their photos taken, sign autographs and give away bikes to three lucky members.

Matthew Kennedy said it was one way the players could say thank you for the loyalty shown by the supporter base.

“Today having an open training in front of everyone was awesome and to see the support from fans was unbelievable,” he said.

“It shows a lot of loyalty, so we’re grateful to be able to return the favour and pay it back a little bit. We're grateful and it’s one way to give back and say thank you.”

Kennedy said he was also impressed with his teammates' efforts in their final training session for 2018.

The 188cm midfielder said new Blues were helping drive standards at Ikon Park.

“It was a solid last session. I think everyone attacked it really well. I think a lot of the boys are looking a lot fitter,” he said.

“Training has been really enjoyable so far in the lead up to Christmas. There’s good energy and spirit around the group. There’s plenty of excitement.

“The blokes we’ve brought into the Club like 'Fas' (Alex Fasolo), 'Setters' (Will Setterfield), 'Gov' (Mitch McGovern) and Newman have all shown positive signs so far and it’s a really exciting time going forward."

On behalf of the Board, Executive, coaches, playing groups, staff and everyone at Ikon Park, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty and support of the Blues in 2018.

Our very best wishes to you and your families for a safe and happy festive season and a most prosperous New Year.

We look forward to an exciting 2019 season and once again thank you for your continued Bound by Blue support.
