Primary school students from a diverse range of backgrounds gathered at Visy Park last weekend, taking to the turf in the Multicultural School Cup.
Five schools took part in the friendly round-robin competition, including Carlton Primary School, Australian International Academy, AIA King Khalid School, Thomas Town West Primary School and Epping West Primary School.
The competition is part of the AFL's Multicultural School Program.
Carlton's Multicultural Partnership Coordinator Ned Murphy says the games were competitive and the students embraced the core themes of the program, including teamwork, respect, leadership, harmony and fair play.
"It was great to see so many students from different walks of life come together and share their love of sport," Murphy said.
"I was able to see an amazing improvement in the skills of the students, so they have obviously been practicing with their friends, which is fantastic."
The Carlton Football Club congratulates all the students who took part.
