Probably had his best season, standing tall in the absence of fellow backmen Jarrad Waite and Michael Jamison for much of the year. Often concedes height and weight to opponents, but showed great leadership to the younger Carlton defenders. Finished ninth in the best and fairest and led the Blues in marks (166) and rebound 50s (75).
