People and Culture Manager – part time

Carlton Football Club is seeking to appoint an outstanding People and Culture Manager to join their team on a part time basis (three days per week).

Reporting to the General Manager, People and Culture, our ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with the passion and drive to deliver successful business outcomes through our most valuable asset – our people.

The People and Culture Manager will have experience as either a Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager and will be looking to join a small team to support the Club’s strategic objective of becoming an Employer of Choice.

The role will require the successful candidate to lead and manage various facets of HR processes including but not limited to HR administration, compliance and reporting, talent acquisition, health and wellbeing, employee relations and organisational and cultural development initiatives

The People and Culture Manager will be a key point of contact for managers and staff and is required to have proven experience in the application of HR policies and procedures in accordance with legislation and industrial instruments.

With an eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills, the successful candidate will be comfortable in rolling up their sleeves in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Agility, resilience, and flexibility are key attributes required for this exciting position.

Note that all staff at the Club are currently working remotely and the successful candidate will be supported with flexibility, including the days/hours for the 0.6FTE requirements of this role.

Student Engagement Coordinator

The Carlton College of Sport is an exciting initiative that runs in partnership with the Carlton Football Club and La Trobe University (LTU).  The program is housed at Carlton’s iconic home ground, Ikon Park, where students combine their education with real life work experiences within all departments of the Carlton Football Club.

Students within the program will spend 12 months studying for a Higher Education Diploma qualification.  Areas of study include sports and exercise science, sport development, sport management and marketing.  The program is equally balanced between theoretical education and practical activity with the major advantage and differentiator being the industry experience gained by students through extra-curricular activities run by Carlton FC. La Trobe University staff will deliver theoretical content to students.

The Student Engagement Coordinator will report to the Manager, Carlton College of Sport (CCoS) and is responsible for managing all facets of student interaction with the Carlton Football Club from application generation and conversion through to extracurricular activity coordination of enrolled students.

The role will work closely with the Manager, Carlton College of Sport to deliver the best possible education, training and experience for students ultimately resulting in the highest possible enrolment numbers and associated revenue outcomes. Doing so will require the development of a placement schedule and roster, organisation of guest lectures and facilitation of truly unique sporting experiences both at the Carlton Football Club and throughout the wider sporting landscape.

Most importantly, the Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the conversion of program leads into applications and applications into enrolments. This will require a large element of personal consultation with prospective students via outbound phone calls, text messages, emails and in-person interaction driven by a relentless attitude to achieve targets. The role will also include the management of retention strategies to ensure enrolled students are engaged and enjoying their involvement.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal and relationships building skills, is highly self-motivated and proactive and will thrive on providing exceptional levels of customer service to potential and current students, key stakeholders at La Trobe University (LTU) as well as throughout schools across the State.

This position will be offered on a full time and ongoing basis in Carlton North with the requirement to work outside of standard business hours in addition to travelling within Victoria.
