THE VOTES for Round 2 are in for the AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year award, and the Game Changers have plenty of positives to come out of it.

Skipper Kerryn Harrington topped the table with a perfect 10 votes after she broke the record for the most disposals (23) at 100 per cent efficiency - a record previously held by herself.

Harrington - who spent 97 per cent of the game on the ground - was a brick wall in Carlton’s defensive half, nullifying Geelong’s scoring opportunities and cleaning up any ground balls that came her way, as well as recording 391 metres gained.

Her influence was particularly profound in the first term, registering 10 disposals and four intercepts to keep the Cats at bay on their home deck.

Following the skipper was Maddy Prespakis, who fittingly polled six votes in the ‘Prespakis Cup’.

Prespakis picked up 29 disposals, a new record in her AFLW career, in a mammoth effort to win the contest and drive the ball into the forward line. Prespakis made her efforts count in all areas, gaining the second-most ground on the day (373 metres) behind Harrington.

Lucy McEvoy earned herself five votes in a commendable midfield performance that saw her gather 18 disposals, but it was her game-high six tackles on the day that spoke volumes of her effort.

Continuously putting her body on the line, McEvoy’s competitiveness and bullish contest saw her pulling the Blues out of tough spots on more than one occasion.

Unsurprisingly, for the second week in a row, Brea Moody was awarded votes, this week polling three for her 22-hitout performance.

The dominant ruck on the day, with Carlton winning the hitouts 34-9, Moody continued to control the ball from the bounce, getting it exactly where she needed to and starting the process at the highest level.

Rounding out the votes was Georgia Gee, who polled one vote for her showing in the forward line.

Recording 15 of her 16 disposals in the second half when the game was there to be won, Gee used her speed and precise kicking to help create opportunities for the Blues' forward line, while also kicking the final goal of the match to seal the result.
