A DOUBLE Blue nomination.

Jack Silvagni and Charlie Curnow have respectively received an AFL Mark of the Year and AFL Goal of the Year nomination.

There's clearly something about that long-sleeved No.1 and a soaring grab at the MCG.

The grab in question came in the second quarter of Friday night's win over the arch rival, when Silvagni perched himself on the back of Essendon defender Zach Reid, who stands at 202cm.

Hauling in the mark at the second attempt, Silvagni went back and finished off his good work by converting truly from the set shot.

It's the fourth AFL Mark of the Year nomination that Silvagni has received in his career: three of those have come in the long sleeves, and two against the Bombers.

It didn't take long into the second half for Curnow to match Silvagni's nomination-earning antics at the other end, this time in front of goal.

Combining beautifully with fellow key forward Harry McKay, Curnow received a clever tap from the No.10 and instinctively turned towards goal.

Choosing to embrace the dribble kick, Curnow rolled the Sherrin home from close to the boundary to set the Blues on their way and retake his lead in the Coleman Medal in the process.
