IT'S SATURDAY 24 May 2008, the Round 9 contest between Carlton and Fremantle at the venue then known as Telstra Dome.

It’s remembered as the day Brendan Fevola drew equal with the former keeper of the No. 25 guernsey Alex Jesaulenko with his 424th career goal for the Club.

It’s also remembered as the day the home team ended the Dockers’ seven-year winning streak of nine consecutive games at the Blues’ expense.

But it’s perhaps best remembered as the day Darren Pfeiffer – a late replacement for Bret Thornton in the selected team – booted the sealer to secure a memorable nine-point win.

Having led the Dockers for most of the contest, Carlton had to reverse a narrow three quarter-time deficit brought on by six unanswered Freo goals in the third.

Andrew Carrazzo set the tone with a long bomb from outside 50, and in the end, it was Pfeiffer – a 23-gamer in an injury-ravaged career - who sealed the deal with a brilliant snap around the body for maximum points.

It was a Network Ten game in which future Carlton AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss provided the special comments.
