Simon Wiggins and former bootstudder Laurie Carter were awarded Life Membership of the Carlton Football Club at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday evening.

Carlton President Stephen Kernahan presented Wiggins and Carter with the award.

Wiggins automatically received Life Membership as he has represented Carlton in senior matches in eight seasons.

Recruited to Carlton from Glenorchy via the Tasmania Under 18s. Wiggins was Carlton’s first selection, number 15 overall, in the 2000 National Draft.

He made his AFL debut for Carlton in round 5, 2001 against St Kilda at Visy Park and was the 1,045th player to represent Carlton.

A Member of Carlton’s pre-season premiership teams in 2005 & 2007, he played his 100th game for Carlton in Round 17, 2008. He has played 103 games for the Club and has kicked 32 Goals.

Laurie Carter was awarded with Life Membership after working as bootstudder fro 25 years. Carter commenced at the Carlton Football Club after the 1982 Grand Final and completed his role following the 2007 season.
