The Carlton Football Club is proud to support the YMCA’s Bridge Project, which helps at risk youth to turn their lives around by providing training, support and employment opportunities.

Carlton coach Mick Malthouse has been an ambassador for the Bridge Project since it began in 2005. Malthouse is a big supporter of young people deserving second chances and has spent time with those involved in the program.

The Blues coach will be a guest speaker at the upcoming Bridge Breakfast fundraiser. Hosted by Andrew O’Keefe, the event will offer an insight into the life of a young person after being in custody, and about the difference a second chance can make.

Victorian statistics show that the rate of reoffending for young people is approximately 66 per cent, however the rate of reoffending for Bridge Project Participants is just 3 per cent.

Victorian Premier Denis Napthine and Bridge Project Participants will also speak at the breakfast.
