The journey to season 2015 began today for Carlton’s youngest players.

About a dozen players in their first to fourth years of AFL returned to the training track at Visy Park, where they were greeted by sunny skies for their first session of the pre-season.

It’s just over two months since Carlton played its last game for 2014, and after some well-earned rest, the players were straight back into training.

Carlton assistant coach Brad Green put the players through their paces.

“The first day back is always a bit of a shock to the body, but the boys have had their holiday training programs to help keep them in shape while they were away,” Green said.

“Today we had a skills session, then they did some conditioning work and a weights session this afternoon.

“The younger boys have a two-week lead up to the rest of the team coming back, so we will keep progressing their programs with a lot of conditioning work and a lot of work in the gym – then it’s about getting the boys used to our game plan and the way we want them to play.”

Carlton’s senior players return to training on Monday 17 November.
