OVERVIEW

When Charlie Curnow was selected by the Blues with pick No.12 in last year’s draft, the Club welcomed a second Curnow to its fold.

The younger brother of midfielder Ed, Curnow was quick to make his senior debut, being named in the 22-man team to face Sydney at Etihad Stadium in Round 2.

His inclusion saw Carlton field its first brother-duo since Michael and Ben Sexton ran out in Round 14, 1996 against North Melbourne.

The key forward made an impressive debut, collecting 11 possessions and kicking his first AFL goal.

Curnow looked to be a consistent part of the Blues' line-up after notching up four senior games by Round 5, however a bout of glandular fever followed by a minor ankle injury and a knee complaint kept him on the sideline.

There’s no doubt Blues fans will be looking forward to seeing Curnow fit and firing in 2017.

HE SAID IT

“It’s been so exciting, I’ve had an adrenaline rush all day. I’ve tried to keep it low key but it’s hard to keep your emotions in check. To play with Ed and the whole team is so exciting – to run out with the boys was so good.”

Curnow speaks to Carlton Media after making his debut in Round 2.

THEY SAID IT

"Charlie Curnow's back playing. We know he played four or five games at the start of the year and we would have continued to play him, because he's (a big part of) our future."

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

In Round 18 against Sydney, Curnow took a terrific contested mark in the Blues’ forward 50 between two Swans, earning him Carlton’s ‘Mark of the Week’. The young forward also went back and slotted the goal – the team’s first goal of the day.
