Blues fans, listen up – a double header is now scheduled for Ikon Park this Saturday 11 February!

In Round 2 of the AFL Women’s competition Carlton and Greater Western Sydney will go to battle at the Blues’ spiritual home, with the hit-out between Collingwood and Melbourne to follow.

The AFL has made the decision to move the clash between the Magpies and the Demons to Ikon Park following significant crowd attendances at the opening round of AFLW.

As a result of the change, Carlton’s match against GWS has been brought forward to the earlier time of 3:35pm to accommodate the second match kicking off at 7:40pm.

AFL General Manager Game and Marketing Development Simon Lethlean said the revised times and location change will ensure the games are enjoyed by as many fans as possible.

“We feel Ikon Park is the best available option to host Saturday’s matches,” Lethlean said.

“Following the great attendances of the opening round last weekend, we want to make sure those who wish to attend the AFL Women’s matches this weekend can do so.

“We have worked closely with the venue, clubs and the broadcasters to ensure the changeover period between the two matches is appropriate.”

Entry to all AFLW matches this weekend are FREE so make sure you’re in the stands to support the girls.

Saturday is also Carlton’s Family Day (now starting at 12:45pm), so be sure to visit the Northern Lawn, Princes Park before heading to the AFLW matches.

Please note that parking will not be available on the Northern Lawn, with public transport recommended.
