CARLTON midfielder Blaine Boekhorst has been nominated for the 2017 Coates Hire Goal of the Year for his stunning solo effort which handed the Blues the lead in the third term against West Coast at Domain Stadium on Saturday night.

With the scores locked at 58-58, the 23-year-old perfectly timed a smother in the Blues' forward 50 before dodging two opponents and finishing from a tight angle.

For Boekhorst to join teammates Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs and Sam Petrevski-Seton in the running for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year, he needs your help to beat the Round 21 goals of Essendon's Cale Hooker and Western Bulldogs captain Robert Murphy.

Thanks to Coates Hire and the AFL, fans have the chance to vote for their favourite goal each week. One lucky entrant who selects the overall 2017 AFL Coates Hire Goal of the Year will win $5,000 cash.
