The Carlton Football Club embarked on the second stage of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2017.

After registering six wins, the Blues finished the season in 16th place on the ladder.

Despite falling four points short of its 2016 output, Carlton won more quarters in 2017, demonstrating the growth of the playing group in its second year with Bolton at the helm.

With the team now on a break, we’re analysing each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for our No. 7, Dylan Buckley.

OVERVIEW

Season 2017 didn’t go to plan for Buckley, with form and injuries restricting the speedster to just one senior game.

The 24-year-old’s sole appearance came against the Western Bulldogs in Round 17, but a hamstring injury cut his afternoon short, sidelining him for the next two weeks.

Buckley worked hard but struggled for consistency for the Northern Blues across 15 matches in a largely defensive role.

One of his best performances came in the Round 6 win over Sandringham, where he booted a goal and collected 19 possessions at 100 per cent efficiency.

Currently out of contract, Buckley succumbed to a knee injury in the penultimate VFL round and recently underwent minor knee surgery.

Regular programming will recommence next week. #DiscussionsWithDylan
