THE Blues will blood anther debutant on Friday night, with defender Reni Hicks named in Carlton’s AFLW side to take on GWS at Drummoyne Oval.

Taken with pick No.29 in last year’s AFLW draft, the Diamond Creek product can play a number of roles down back, while also having the ability to play one-on-one and win her own ball.

Hicks is one of three inclusions Carlton has made to its team for the Round 2 clash, with defender Sarah Last and midfielder Tilly Lucas-Rodd also making their way into the squad.

Natalie Plane, Lauren Arnell and Kate Gillespie-Jones (who has been named as the travelling emergency), have all been omitted.

After defeating Collingwood last Friday night by eight points at Ikon Park, Carlton will be hoping to keep its winning record intact when it travels interstate for the first time.

Meanwhile GWS, which fell short to Melbourne at Casey Fields on Saturday, will be looking to secure its first win of the 2018 season.
