CARLTON’s Patrick Cripps has received the maximum number of votes from the AFL Coaches' Association (AFLCA) for his performance against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

It is the fourth time Cripps has received 10 votes this season, with the midfielder awarded perfect scores in the Blues’ clashes with Richmond, West Coast Eagles and Collingwood.

Cripps has also narrowed Melbourne’s Max Gawn’s lead in the Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leadership board to two points upon the tally of the Round 19 votes.

The bull midfielder brought formidable pressure to Gold Coast, amassing match-highs in disposals (29) and tackles (11), and a team-high contested possessions (17).

Of Cripps’ performance, coach Brendon Bolton said the contested beast had brought consistent pressure throughout the season.

"He's been doing it all year so it doesn’t surprise me," Bolton said.

"That's point one. It inspires youngsters … the interesting thing about Cripps is he's just not satisfied. I sort of heard his comments when he re-signed - he wants to take this club forward and this group forward."

Cripps was one of six players who received 10 votes in Round 19, with Brodie Grundy (Collingwood), Tom Hawkins (Geelong), Ben Cunnington (North Melbourne) Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn) and Charlie Dixon (Port Adelaide) also given the nod by the AFLCA.

Fellow Blues Kade Simpson (six), Charlie Curnow (six), captain Marc Murphy (four), Ed Curnow (two), Sam Petrevski-Seton (one) and Darcy Lang (one) also received nods from the AFLCA for their performances against the Suns.
