NOT often in the history of sport does an athlete reach the pinnacle of two professional sporting codes.

However, Brianna Davey — Carlton’s AFLW captain and Carlton College of Sport program presenter — is one such athlete.

Register for the December 20 Carlton College of Sport open day.

Prior to joining Carlton in 2017 as a member of Carlton’s inaugural AFLW team, Davey represented both Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City in the W-League, as well as the Matildas internationally.

Davey will call on her unique cross-code experience when presenting to Carlton College students about high performance, as well as the roles of coaches and conditioning staff at the elite level.

“My role will be presenting to the students about my experiences in sport… That will link to what they are learning in the course”, Davey said.

“Coaches are vital to an athlete, in the way they develop and the way they learn. Without them, I definitely wouldn’t be where I am now.”

The one-year Diploma — delivered at Ikon Park — has a large focus on athletic development and the role of the coach at all levels of performance.

The insight provided by Davey is a great example of the exclusive advantage that Carlton College of Sport students can benefit from, to complement their learning experience.

Applications for the exclusive program are capped. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the Carlton College of Sport website to find out more information about the program and register their interest.
