Inaugural Carlton College of Sport students Bailey Campbell and Maddison O’Keefe had an experience they will never forget this week.

The pair, who will commence their studies at the Carlton College of Sport on February 25, travelled to the Sunshine Coast to join the Blues on their pre-season training camp.

Bailey and Maddison spoke with Chris Judd and Stephen Silvagni, tapping into their wealth of experience about what it takes to thrive in all aspects of elite sport. They received a first-hand look at the AFL program in every aspect, assisting with training, observing gym sessions and gaining behind-the-scenes knowledge that few ever get to see.

This week was just a sample of what they will experience as part of the Carlton College of Sport in 2019, which will predominantly be held at Ikon Park.

Students attending the Carlton College of Sport will study a diploma of Sport Coaching and Development and in addition to academics, will have the opportunity to complete 100 hours of placement across the Carlton Football Club.

With access to elite athletes, coaches, high performance staff and mentors, the program allows students to immerse themselves in the Club and obtain exclusive insights to events, community activations, facility operations, fan engagement and match-day protocols.

Applications for the 12-month program are closing soon, so prospective students are encouraged to register their interest immediately or attend the upcoming Open Day on Thursday 21 February.
