FOR the third consecutive week, Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps has featured in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award votes.

Cripps was awarded eight votes for his performance against the Swans in Round 3, coming in behind Sydney’s Isaac Heeney (10 votes).

Despite the 19-point defeat, Cripps managed to notch 28 disposals (22 contested), 13 clearances and eight tackles for his efforts against the Swans.

Ed Curnow and Liam Jones also featured with two votes each for their individual performances.

Jones took the defensive job on Lance Franklin, keeping the star Swan to two majors and goalless in the second half while also amassing eight one percenters.

Curnow received a nod for his heroics in a new role up forward, finishing the match with 19 disposals and a game-high four goals in a standout performance.

The last round of votes pushes Cripps up to fifth on the 2019 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award leaderboard.
