CARLTON defender Dale Thomas has been referred to the AFL Tribunal after being charged with abusing an umpire.

This charge relates to an alleged incident that occurred during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against GWS.

The AFL Tribunal will sit on Tuesday night to hear the matter.

Blues co-captain Patrick Cripps was also charged with striking during the second quarter. He can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea.
