CARLTON could see its young talent take centre stage this Sunday when it takes on Essendon at the MCG.

Youngsters Patrick Kerr and Angus Schumacher are among seven potential inclusions for the traditional grudge match with the Bombers.

The two promising Blues are joined by seven others on this week’s extended interchange also featuring Jarrod Garlett, Cameron Polson, Alex Fasolo, Darcy Lang, Paddy Dow and Will Setterfield.

With the inclusions, 18 members of the 26-man squad are aged 23 or under.

There are three senior spots up for grabs against the Bombers, with Mitch McGovern and Kade Simpson sidelined through injury and Dale Thomas omitted.

McGovern will miss this week’s class with Essendon having not recovered from the ankle injury sustained in last week’s meeting with the Saints.

The Blues will also need to account for missing backline personnel with Kade Simpson, set to miss this round with general soreness following his return from injury last week.

Liam Stocker and Sam Walsh have once again been named, with the first-year draftees looking to continue their impressive runs in their debut seasons so far.

The team will be finalised on Friday at 5pm.

In: Schumacher, Polson, Lang, Garlett,
