CARLTON will enter Marvel Stadium with an imposing forward line on Saturday when they face Brisbane.

Usual suspects Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow will line up in the forward 50, supported by the returning Mitch McGovern after an ankle injury sidelined him last week.

In his first game as caretaker coach, David Teague is looking forward to Carlton’s big men inside 50 having an impact against Brisbane.

“They are three exciting young forwards,” Teague said.

“They can all run, they can all move and they’re quite talented. We need those guys to share the workload evenly together.”

As the Blues' forward-line stocks continue to jell this season, Teague is hoping to expose Brisbane’s young backline through improved ball movement into attack.

“If we can start getting the ball inside 50 quicker, I am going to back these guys in,” he said.

“Let’s get it to them one-on-one and see what they can do.”

Admitting McGovern has at times played a sacrificial role this season, Teague’s philosophy of allowing his side to play free football will benefit the key forward this weekend.

“I love coaching him. He always put the team first,” he said.

“Mitch has been so team orientated by taking himself out of the game at times to give us a better system ahead of the ball.”

Highlighting his appointment as a fresh start, Teague has placed emphasis on allowing his players to showcase their individual strengths against the Lions.

“We want to see a really exciting team go out there and show their skill and class,” he said.

“I want them to be the best individuals they can be and come together as a collective.”
