THE Blues will be looking to get back on the winners list when they take on the Hawks this Saturday.

After last week’s narrow loss at the hands of the NT Thunder, the Blues are confident that they have what it takes to get the win when they return home to La Trobe University.

It’s bound to be a tightly contested clash with the Hawks also looking to return to the winners’ list following a defeat at the hands of the Cats in Round 9.

Four changes have been made from last week’s team, with Brea Moody, Abbie McKay, Nic Stevens and Megan Neill missing out on this week’s clash. The Blues will, however, see the return of AFLW star Chloe Dalton who returns alongside Nicola Burns, Taylah Manson and Chloe Leighton.

The Blues will once again look towards the more experienced players in Gab Pound, Courtney Bromage, and both Hosking’s to lead the way against an in-form Hawks team – who currently sit in sixth place on the VFLW ladder.

Speaking earlier in the week, Pound believed that – while the Hawks would go into the game as the favourites, the Blues thrive on their ‘underdog’ status and will look to cause the upset.

“It seems as though [the Hawks] have been going pretty well. We’ve loved being the underdog at most points, and we really turn it on then,” Pound told SEN Radio

“I think it will be a big challenged for us, but I think we can come away with the win. We’re pretty thirsty now.

“La Trobe is a great deck as well, so we’re pretty excited to go back there and have a home game there.”
