THE VFLW Blues will look to build on last week’s spirited performance with some key AFLW talent returning for Saturday’s clash with Richmond.

All-Australian Gab Pound headlines the AFLW stars named to return for the Blues, with defensive partner Jess Hosking also making her return to the team. 

The duo makes up two of five inclusions for the Round 14 encounter, with Northern Knights youngster Britney Gutknecht named to return as 23rd player after impressing on debut a fortnight ago.

Teresa Cassar and Sina Mason round out the inclusions, having shown positive signs at stages throughout the VFLW season. 

However, the Blues will be without some key members from last week’s strong performance, with AFLW stars Madison Prespakis and Darcy Vescio among the outs for Saturday’s game.  

Captain Nat Plane - who showed her tenacity and aggression at the contest last week - will also join Chloe Dalton and Charlotte Wilson as the outs for this weekend’s game.  

The Blues were courageous in defeat in Round 13 and will want to bring the same defensive mindset to the contest against the Tigers.

In what was her first game of the VFLW campaign, Lauren Brazzale will need to bring the physicality and experience across half-back: alongside Gemma Wright, a resolute back-line will be crucial for the Blues if they’re to come away with a win over the Tigers. 

The Round 14 VFLW clash will be held at Ikon Park, with a starting time of 1pm.
