OVERVIEW

2019 was a year of development and integration for first-year Blue Finbar O’Dwyer.

The forward was selected at pick No.66 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft and has spent his first year at Ikon Park learning his craft alongside a young forward group.

Yet to make his senior debut, O’Dwyer played 12 matches for the Northern Blues in 2019, kicking five goals.

BEST PERFORMANCE

O’Dwyer showed a glimpse of his potential when the Northern Blues faced Williamstown in Round 16 of the VFL season.

The young forward showed his ability to impact the scoreline, kicking a goal for Northern at an important stage in the third quarter while also collecting four marks.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

The highlight of O’Dwyer’s debut season came in his first goal in the Northern Blues jumper.

It was first game, first goal and first win for the young Blue, who was able to tick off all three when Northern emerged with the narrowest and most dramatic of wins against Geelong in Round 2.
