IN the Blues' first win for the 2021 season, it was no surprise that five Carlton players polled votes in the AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award.

Topping the chart was Maddy Prespakis with a perfect 10 votes from the coaches, after she gathered 24 disposals, laid five tackles and snagged a goal, resulting in an all-round dominant performance.

Young star Grace Egan wasn't far behind the reigning AFLW Best and Fairest, earning eight votes for her career-high 24 disposals and three tackles.

Abbie McKay polled three votes in a breakout performance which saw her earning Round 3's Rising Star nomination, while ruck Breann Moody also received three votes after a solid performance in the ruck with her combination of tap work and overhead marking.

Elise O'Dea rounded out the votes, earning a vote for her most complete game with the Blues so far which saw her receive praise from Senior Coach Daniel Harford for her physicality and leadership from the opening bounce.

Prespakis now sits in the top 10 for the AFLCA votes overall: check out the rest of the votes here.
